In August 2023, the Hispanic Dental Association, under the leadership of the president Dr. Christina Meiners, approved a new position: the Historian of the organization. This newly appointed official, leading the HDA Historic Committee, will be dedicated to identifying, preserving, and protecting historically significant records and memories of the organization. This Historic Committee is collaborating with other HDA national teams, documenting, preserving, and promoting Hispanic dentistry’s history and heritage. This body also ensures that the organization’s legacy is recorded for future generations and that its history remains a vibrant, relevant part of its identity. Current Historical officers are Dr. Luz Marina Aguirre and Dr. Mercedes Mota Martinez.
